MCPA CURRICULUM GUIDE
PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTIONAL EXPECTATION
The Bahamian curriculum is structured with a national framework emphasizing core subjects in primary school and leading to nationally certified exams for secondary students. Primary school (Grades 1-6) focuses on foundational skills in Literacy, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, with additional subjects like Religious Education, Physical Education, and sometimes a Foreign Language. High school (Grades 7-12) is divided into junior secondary (Grades 7-9), culminating in the Bahamas Junior Certificate (BJC) exams, and senior secondary (Grades 10-12), which prepares students for the Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) exams.
